Mezcal Chocolat by French Cowboy is a dark gourmand built around the collision of smoky mezcal and intensely rich cacao.

The composition is driven by exceptional natural materials, including an unusually high concentration of cacao absolute rather than relying solely on a conventional synthetic chocolate accord. An ultra-rare rhum extract adds further alcoholic richness, while Somali olibanum, Virginia cedarwood and Indian cypriol create the smoky, earthy framework around the cacao.

Fiery, boozy and unapologetically decadent, Mezcal Chocolat takes the familiar pairing of chocolate and spirits somewhere darker, combining bright citrus, smoke, precious cacao and creamy woods.

What Does Mezcal Chocolat Smell Like?

Mezcal Chocolat opens with sparkling lime oil sharpened by chilli pepper and a salty edge, immediately suggesting the bright, fiery character of a mezcal cocktail. Somali olibanum introduces smoke from the outset, while rare rhum extract deepens the boozy, fruity mezcal effect.

The heart becomes considerably richer as cacao absolute takes over, bringing the dense, creamy bitterness of real cocoa rather than straightforward confectionery sweetness.

As it dries down, smoky vanilla melts into Virginia cedarwood, whose soft woody character complements the cacao, while Indian cypriol adds dark, earthy depth. The result is a smoky chocolate gourmand balancing bitter cacao, salted lime, fiery spice and boozy mezcal against creamy woods and vanilla.
