Thornapple is a dark green fruity fragrance inspired by Datura stramonium, the thornapple plant, and its strange duality of beauty and danger.

Rather than using the plant itself, Heretic creates an imagined thornapple through verdant leaves, an uncanny apple accord and aromatic spices. The composition gradually darkens through black tea, plum, incense and labdanum before settling into mossy woods and skin musk.

The result is deliberately seductive and slightly unsettling: crisp fruit and crushed greenery against dark tea, resinous incense and an earthy, moss-covered base.

What Does Thornapple Smell Like?

Thornapple opens with a distinctive apple accord surrounded by green leaves, creating a crisp, almost strange fruitiness rather than the sweetness of a conventional apple perfume. Cardamom adds aromatic spice while saffron brings a dry, leathery warmth.

The heart turns darker with black tea and ripe plum. Labdanum gives the composition a warm resinous quality, while frankincense introduces a cool, smoky incense effect that contrasts with the fruit.

Oakmoss and vetiver pull the dry down firmly into earthy, green territory, supported by ambered woods and soft skin musk. Thornapple ultimately smells like dark fruit and black tea tangled through crushed leaves, moss, incense and warm skin.
