Fragrance Overview

New Wave is a highly concentrated extrait de parfum created by master perfumers Dominique Ropion and Meabh McCurtin, built around an unconventional wave-like structure and a fragrance oil concentration of nearly 30%.

Inspired by feelings of power, sensuality and optimism, the composition combines luminous florals with an unusually complex foundation of resins, incense, woods, tobacco and musk. Orange flower and ylang-ylang bring a solar quality, while honeyed floral nuances provide warmth and richness.

The extensive base gives New Wave much of its character, layering benzoin, labdanum and olibanum with patchouli, tobacco, vanilla, tonka bean and multiple woods. The result is a rich, warm and sophisticated spicy floral with a deep resinous presence.

What Does New Wave Smell Like?

New Wave opens with lively pink pepper and fresh angelica seed, creating a bright, aromatic spiciness.

The heart becomes warmer and more floral as orange flower and creamy ylang-ylang emerge. A honeyed floral accord adds a smooth golden sweetness, giving the florals a rich, solar quality.

The dry down is considerably deeper and more complex. Benzoin, labdanum and olibanum create a warm resinous and incense-like foundation, layered with earthy patchouli, cypriol and vetiver. Tobacco adds a darker aromatic warmth while cedarwood and oakwood reinforce the woody structure. Vanilla bean and tonka bean introduce a smooth sweetness, surrounded by Ambroxan, Ambrarome and musk for a warm, diffusive finish.

New Wave is particularly suited to autumn and winter, evenings and occasions when a richer, more distinctive fragrance feels appropriate. Its high concentration and extensive resinous-woody base give it a substantial, enveloping character.

It is particularly appealing for lovers of warm spicy fragrances, incense, tobacco and ambered woods who still want a noticeable floral presence. Orange flower and ylang-ylang provide luminosity against the darker resins, woods, vanilla and tobacco.
