Une Amande by Obvious is a milky, powdery fragrance created by perfumer Julien Rasquinet as a celebration of enduring love, purity and softness.

Its inspiration comes from the Greek myth of Phyllis and Demophon. Believing her absent lover would never return, the grieving Phyllis was transformed by the gods into an almond tree. When Demophon finally returned and embraced the tree, it immediately burst into blossom. Une Amande captures that image of beauty emerging from devotion and hope, even after all appears lost.

Rasquinet imagined the fragrance as a silken cocoon, with almond at its centre surrounded by white flowers, powdery vanilla and soft musks. Intimate and understated, it embodies Obvious' idea of discreet luxury, something that feels naturally at home on the skin rather than demanding attention.

What Does Une Amande Smell Like?

Une Amande opens with pink pepper, almond blossom and a soft heliotrope accord. The almond blossom introduces a delicate floral nuttiness, while heliotrope gives the opening its characteristic powdery, almost creamy softness.

At the heart, almond essential oil becomes richer and more enveloping, surrounded by orange blossom and jasmine. Sandalwood adds a smooth, creamy woodiness beneath the white florals, reinforcing the fragrance's milky texture.

As it dries down, vanilla and tonka bean bring soft sweetness, while benzoin resinoid adds balsamic warmth. A cloud of creamy floral musks wraps around the composition with a second-skin softness. The result is a milky, powdery almond fragrance with delicate white flowers, creamy woods, vanilla and soft musk.
